Talauna Reed for Olympia Schools

“My name is Talauna Reed and I am currently serving on the Olympia School Board as Director of District 2. As a mother of twins who attended Olympia schools, I understand firsthand the importance of quality education and the need for a fair and inclusive system.

During my time on the board, I have consistently advocated for greater transparency and the interests of students and teachers. I was the only director to vote against the district's budget cuts and staff reductions because I firmly believe in prioritizing cuts to administration instead of cutting teachers.

Beyond my role on the school board, I am actively involved in advocating for renters through my work with the Tenants Union of Washington State. I bring valuable insights and a commitment to bringing underrepresented communities to the table.

Additionally, I am a passionate community organizer who will fight tirelessly for the rights and well-being of all students, staff, and families, ensuring that their voices are heard. I will make decisions to ensure the success of all students.

I would be honored to continue serving on the Olympia School Board. Together, let's build a stronger, transparent, and more equitable education system that empowers all students and supports all educators.”
